Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia Technology unveiled its latest flagship handset Z60 Ultra on Tuesday, in a bid to grab a bigger slice in the mid-range to high-end handset market amid intensified competition from domestic rivals.
Ni Fei, chairman of Nubia Technology, said innovation in smartphones that can lead to transformative experiences primarily revolves around two elements, the screen and photography, adding that the company has devoted resources to
under-display camera technology to offer full-screen experience.
Priced from 3,999 yuan ($560.1), the device boasts a 6.8-inch active-matrix organic light-emitting diodes, or AMOLED, screen and is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 64-megapixel
periscope telephoto camera for photography lovers.
Data from global market research company Canalys showed that smartphone shipments in China saw a second consecutive quarter of modest decline, falling 5 percent year-on-year to 66.7 million units in the third quarter of this year.
